Uzbekistan Railways

Uzbekistan Railways is a state owned company that manages all the railways on the territory of the republic. It runs regular trains between the biggest cities. The scope of its cargo makes up to 90% of the entire cargo turnover in the country. Public railways in Uzbekistan stretch for over than 4200km. The chain of railroads goes through all highly populated regions and regular trains run to all popular destinations. Tashkent – Samarkand route is the busiest direction by passenger count. Tashkent – Bukhara route is on the second place and Samarkand-Bukhara completes the top three destinations’ list.

Passenger trains

Passenger trains of Uzbekistan Railways run daily between the cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Urgench, Nukus and etc.

Afrosiyob

High-speed train of the Spanish production “PatentesTalgo S.L.”. Duration on route between Tashkent and Samarkand is only 2hrs 10 min, and 3hrs 20 min to Bukhara.

Sharq

The fast train runs on route Tashkent-Samarkand-Bukhara and it carries passengers between the cities in 6,5 hours time. Additionally there is an evening train on Fridays and Sundays.

Uzbekistan

New high-speed train connects Tashkent, the capital, and the Fergana Valley. En-route it stops in the towns of Kokand, Margilan and Andijan. The train goes through a 19-kilometer tunnel under the mountain pass Kamchik.

Night trains 

A number of trains connect the capital city with more remote cities of the country such as Bukhara, Termez, Urgench and Nukus. There are intermediate stops in Samarkand, Karshi, Navoi and other cities. Carriages of all classes are equipped with beds.
